Badger Brewery Ramps Up NPD With Two New Beers
April 2025
Launch of Red Rascal Cherry Mild and Outland Tropical Pale

Badger Brewery is continuing to drive its programme of NPD backed by brewing tradition with the launch of two new beers. The Dorset-based independent family brewer has added Red Rascal Cherry Mild to its line-up of Premium Bottled Ales (PBAs), while Tropical Pale Ale expands the successful Outland craft beer range.

With darker beers enjoying a surge in popularity, 4% ABV Red Rascal combines the rich, malty character of a traditional mild with juicy, fresh cherry notes. Deep brown in colour, with flashes of red when the light catches the liquid, Red Rascal has a ripe, vibrant cherry aroma and a fruity, full-bodied flavour.

Red Rascal introduces a fox character, The Rascal, on the label. This builds on the style of the successful redesign of the Badger PBA range 18 months ago. Red Rascal has a confirmed listing with Waitrose, with other grocery customers to follow. It will also be available in 500ml bottles in Hall & Woodhouse pubs, the Brewery Shop and on www.badgerbeers.com. It has an RRP of £2.15.

Outland Tropical Pale Ale is the latest addition to the Outland range of mainstream craft beers launched by Badger in 2023. A 4.3% ABV pale ale brewed using Cascade and Amarillo hops, the beer delivers refreshment with waves of tropical fruit and bursts of fresh mango flavour.

Outland Tropical Pale is available in 440ml cans, with an RRP of £2.85, as well as on draught in selected Hall & Woodhouse pubs.

The Outland brand is now listed with four of the ‘Big 5’ multiple grocers. Positioned as a ‘mainstream craft’ brand, Outland offers the interesting, innovative flavours and pack design cues associated with craft beers, presented in a way that also appeals to beer drinkers who are new to the craft category, or simply enjoy discovering new beers. The Outland range now comprises nine styles, with more planned for launch during 2025.

Giles Mountford, head of brand marketing for Badger Brewery, said: “The beer market is more competitive and dynamic than ever, and our combination of experience and innovation gives us a real advantage when it comes to expanding both the PBA range and our Outland craft brand.

“We’ve demonstrated that we can respond to changing consumer trends, while at the same time creating great beers that build on our nearly 250 years of brewing heritage and expertise in Blandford.

“Red Rascal is a great example of this, blending the character of a traditional mild with fresh cherry, to create an innovative but accessible beer with broad appeal.  Meanwhile, Outland Tropical Pale combines tropical refreshment with a laid-back vibe that reflects Dorset’s outdoor lifestyle.”

Both new beers launch early April and will be available from retailers, at the Brewery Shop in Blandford, and online at www.badgerbeers.com
